Honor our Veterans

Ninety-Two years ago major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.

We recognize today as Veterans Day.  Here in Indiana, we honor our Veterans; Indianapolis is second only to Washington D.C. in acreage and number of monuments dedicated to veterans, particularly our Hoosier Vets.  We must never forget to honor the sacrifice these men and women have made and are making even today around the world.

As a frail elderly lady leaning on her walker came to vote in Elkhart she said with a smile, “This is the first time I have been out of the house in a long time.”  A volunteer thanked her for making the effort to vote and for her example to the younger generation.  With a passionate broken voice she replied, “My husband was killed in WWII to preserve this freedom.  This is nothing compared!  It is my privilege!”

To my Father and Grandfather, and to every Veteran: Thank You!  Thank you for your sacrifice for our freedom!

The Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument lies in the center of Indianapolis, Indiana, a 284-feet tall monument built from gray limestone and bronze in a neoclassical style. The structure commemorates Hoosiers who were veterans.  A 30-foot statue of “Victory” tops the obelisk. The view of the surrounding area from the 250-foot high observation deck is simply spectacular.

Acceptance Speech by Timothy Wesco

Thank you to the people of District 21 for electing me as your State Representative! I am humbled by your vote and I am committed to represent you in the Indiana State House.

I would also like to thank my family. Your sacrifices over the past year have made this a successful campaign! You got behind me and did all that you could to see me succeed in this endeavor. Thank you!

And to our volunteers and financial supporters; your sacrifices and hard work have been inspiring! You believed in me and that kept me going day after day.

And to the thousands of voters who supported me today, I am sincerely humbled by your vote. Thank you.

In the next two years, I will represent you in Indianapolis with the same common sense conservative values and hard work ethic that so distinguishes the people of our District.

As I have discussed jobs and the economy throughout the course of this campaign, I’ve always stressed that it is private enterprise that drives our economy. It is of the utmost importance to see our entrepreneurs and Hoosier businessmen succeed. And an efficient, lean government with the smallest tax burden possible is the best way to achieve that.

That is why, as your State Legislator, I will work to balance the budget without raising taxes. I will work to cut waste and frivolous spending from our State Budget.

As we consistently put Indiana at the top of the list for business friendliness, we can proudly promote Indiana across America and the entire world as one of the most welcoming places anywhere to come and create jobs; jobs, for every hard working Hoosier.

Another theme of this campaign has been Fiscal Responsibility. Much has been made of the fact that I am personally and completely debt free. That is because I take freedom so seriously. I believe debt is enslaving and as your legislator, I will not vote to spend a penny we do not have! And I would encourage all of us, get out of debt! Once we have experienced the freedom, we will never go back.

Today, Indiana is facing a federal government that is bearing down on our State. Federal mandates in the new healthcare law will force us to spend an additional $3 to 3.7 billion over the next ten years. The State cannot afford this! You cannot afford this because it is your tax dollars that would pay for it. We must stand up to the Federal government and to opt-out of this mandated spending.

And this same Federal Government is failing to enforce its own immigration laws and it is wreaking havoc in our local communities and fostering disrespect for all of our laws. Indiana needs stricter immigration laws and our local law enforcement agencies need to be empowered to enforce them.

I have often spoken of Family Values throughout this campaign. There is much confusion and difference of opinion today about what that exactly means. Here is what “Family Values” are to me. Family values are the things I was taught growing up. Faith in God, thankfulness, honesty, diligence, integrity, the value of a hard day’s labor, compassion, personal responsibility, liberty and freedom, morality, life; these are “Family Values.”

But often these very same values that I have named are made to contradict. We are told to abandon the values of diligence and responsibility for that of compassion. We are told to disregard morality for the sake of freedom! It has been said “We cannot legislate morality.” But the truth is all legislation reflects some standard of morality. The only question is whose morality?

Must we condone and allow the immoral killing of unborn babies for the sake of “freedom” and “choice” while disregarding morality and personal responsibility? Must we allow the time honored and sacred definition of marriage as a union between one man and one woman to be erased for the sake of so called “equality”? God forbid!

Freedom without truth is bondage and will enslave us.

I support a constitutional amendment in Indiana to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman. Because we cannot, we cannot, forsake truth.

I will support every restriction, every law that I believe will reduce the number of abortions in Indiana. And may we pray that someday we will see the overturning of Roe vs. Wade in America making abortion illegal once again.

In conclusion, I give glory and honor for this great victory today to our all powerful God, the Creator of the Universe. He has not abandoned us or our beloved country but calls us individually and nationally to trust in Him. That is the only true hope for our nation and for this world. Let us never forget to daily live out our national motto, “In God we Trust!” And may God bless each and every one of you today.

Thank you.

Vote Tuesday, November 2nd!

Dear Friends,

The results of tomorrow’s election will determine which candidate has the great privilege and solemn responsibility of representing Hoosiers of District 21 for the next two years. Will our district be represented by the strong Conservative who cherishes liberty, family values, and our Constitution? Or will the voters discard our freedoms by electing the liberal candidate who espouses socialism and big government?

I cannot express to you the value of one vote—yours! Your vote is vital if we are to halt government expansion and intrusion into our lives! I need your vote tomorrow, for the future of District 21!

In God we trust,
Timothy Wesco

Faith, Family, Freedom Rally!

Our Faith, Family, and Freedom Rally this last Saturday evening was an incredible night! Due to much generosity, we raised thousands of dollars, and nearly 200 individuals and families came out to not only support Tim Wesco but to also stand up for their faith, their families, and their freedom!

We were pleased to welcome State Representative, Jackie Walorski, senators, Mike Delph, Carlin Yoder, and Joe Zakas as well as the president of AFA of Indiana, Micah Clark. We were blessed by their words of encouragement and honored by their presence as each one individually shared why it is so vitally important that Tim Wesco be elected to the Indiana House of Representatives this November 2nd!
